You Owe Me – Freelancer: Privacy Policy

Freelancer ("the app") is made by Gur Talmor. It helps freelancers and teachers keep track of sessions, clients, invoices and payments. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays with you.

What the app stores

Everything you enter (clients, sessions, prices, payments, invoices, notes, photos, recordings, expenses) is stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, the app also keeps a copy in your private iCloud database so that your iPhone, iPad and Mac show the same data. That database belongs to your Apple account; the developer cannot read it.

The app has no accounts of its own, no servers of its own, and no analytics or advertising libraries. The developer receives none of your data.

What the app asks permission for, and why

• Calendars (read only): to import your lessons and bookings from the calendars you choose. The app never changes or deletes calendar events.
• Contacts: to fill in a client's or a payer's name, phone and address when you pick them. The app never reads your contacts on its own.
• Camera and Photos: to attach a photo to a lesson note or a receipt, and to scan a QR code for a pay link.
• Microphone: to record a short audio clip for a lesson note.
• Face ID / Touch ID: to lock the app, if you turn that on.
• Notifications: for the reminders you set up.

Each permission is optional; the app works without it.

What leaves your device, and only when you choose

Invoices, statements, receipts, lesson notes and month summaries are sent through the apps you pick (Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, the share sheet). Pay links open the payment app you set up. Backups are files you export yourself. The app does not send anything on its own.

Third parties

None. No data is sold, shared or transferred to third parties. Apple's iCloud is used only as your personal storage, under Apple's privacy policy.

Children

The app is for adults running a business. It records the names of students that a client (typically a parent) provides; those names stay in the client's records on the user's device and iCloud, as above.

Deleting your data

Delete a client, session or invoice in the app, or delete the app to remove everything on the device. To remove the iCloud copy, delete the app's data under Settings ▸ Apple Account ▸ iCloud ▸ Manage Storage on your device.
